Jason Rogers

Jason Rogers is a student programmer who has written .NET applications for the Oregon Department of Transportation, OSU and other clients for more than two years at BSG.

For Jason, OSU and BSG are a breather halfway through a projected 20-year Navy career that has involved teaching about and operating nuclear propulsion engines and learning how to pilot a nuclear submarine. Jason was already "kind of a hobbyist programmer" when he joined BSG, and he says he might like to return to software development when he retires from the Navy. "I'll only be 38 or so when I'm done," he says.

Jason says the most valuable things he learned at BSG were business skills. "The average BSG student intern can get one to three years of experience doing real applications, really meeting with clients, really going over requirements, meeting deadlines and all that stuff," he says. "I don't think many students get that kind of exposure."
